Big Sandy Scholar Athletes Week 9


The Big Sandy Scholar Athletes of the Week are chosen weekly by the school administrators of their respective high schools.

This week, we are pleased to announce Colin Robertson and Dominique Long.

Westerville Central Senior Colin Robertson

Athletically, Colin is a football player who is ranked 6th in district for punting. He's won the Archie Griffin Award and has an Honorable Mention. He's a two-time player of the game and is this years Senior Captain.

Academically, Colin is enrolled in 3 Advanced Placement classes - AP Calculus, AP Language Arts and AP Environmental Science.

Colin volunteers as a coach at Superkick, is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and attends Heritage Church.

With a GPA of 4.35, Colin has not yet selected a college.

Westerville South Senior Dominique Long

Athletically, Dominque is a 3-year letter in Football and Track & Field.

Academically, Dom will have 5 completed Advanced Placement classes by graduation - AP World History, AP Government, AP Calculus I & II, AP Physics, as well as IB Spanish.

Dom attends New Salem Baptist Church and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Next fall at Michigan State, Dom is interested in Mechanical Engineering and Sport Science. Dom has a GPA of 4.4.

During football season, each school administration chooses a senior athlete that is academically and athletically eligible. At the end of football season, Heather and Jared will enter 18 other athletes and will be eligible to win a $5,000 scholarship to their college.
