The owner of BrewDog, a Scottish company with American headquarters in Canal Winchester, hopes a new brew may help efforts to keep Columbus Crew SC from relocating to Austin, Texas.

James Watt, the founder of BrewDog, tweeted Sunday his company would be releasing a new beer called "Crew Brew" this week.

Profits would go toward "Save The Crew," which was created last month when team owners announced they'd relocate to the Lone Star state if they don't get a new stadium built in downtown Columbus.

In a post on their website, the founder also said they "would love to facilitate and be involved in a potential purchase of the Columbus Crew" to keep the team in the Columbus, and then look to sell at least half of the team back to fans through crowdfunding.

Watt also says BrewDog is now part of the discussion with the Columbus Partnership and City and County officials to keep the Crew SC in Columbus.

As for the beer - CREW BREW is described as a 4.4% golden ale. The company says all the profits from the sale of this beer will be donated to SAVE THE CREW. This new beer will be draft only and will launch at BrewDog DogTap on Friday the 17th of November and will then be available to ship to our customers in Columbus on Monday 20th November.
