Columbus, Ohio – The Honda Thursday Night Lights 2019 broadcast schedule has been released. This year’s weekly matchups boast the best in high school football battling for the coveted Thursday Night Lights trophy. The 2019 schedule features nine (9) playoff teams, five (5) division champions, and 2018 OHSAA State Runner-Up Johnstown High School.

The 2019 season kicks off Thursday August 29th when Centennial takes on Grandview Heights. The game features two teams looking to keep the winning momentum from the 2018 season going. The game will also be an opportunity for football fans to see standout Grandview Heights Tight End Luke Lachey, son of Ohio State and NFL great Jim Lachey. Other matchup to look out for include OCC perennial power schools Westerville Central at Olentangy Orange, and two of the OHSAA winningest playoff teams Columbus St. Francis Desales and Columbus Bishop Hartley in week 10.

All ten Thursday Night Lights games will begin at 7pm on the CW Columbus, and are also available to be streamed online at www.cwcolumbus.com

"We are amazed by the continued growth and expansion of Thursday Night Lights!” said TNL play-by-play commentator Randy Rhinehart. “For the first time ever, we feature matchups from five different conferences: Central Catholic League, Columbus City League, Ohio Capital Conference, Mid-State League and Licking County League. In all, four schools make their first-ever appearance on TNL!"

“We share the same passion for high school football that our viewers do,” commented Tony D’Angelo, General Manager, CW Columbus. “It’s exciting to showcase area high school athletes, foster relationships with local schools, and provide our viewers with live, local sports.”

Thursday Night Lights is the only over the air high school sports program in central Ohio. Prior to each game sister-station ABC 6 will be broadcasting live from 5pm-6:30pm throughout the ten-week season, featuring the talents of high school bands, cheerleaders, and previewing each of the matchups.

2019 marks the eighth season for Thursday Night Lights on the CW Columbus and remains the only program in central Ohio to offer weekly high school football live in HD on Thursday night. Each broadcast includes plaque presentations to select scholar athletes, interviews with school administrators, marching band coverage and a trophy presentation to the winning school.
