First-place Columbus Crew hits the road to take on New York City FC

The Columbus Crew currently sits in first place in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference and will travel to Red Bull Arena in New Jersey to take on New York City FC Monday.

The Crew (5-0-1) is coming off a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Fire in the club's first match since the MLS is Back Tournament concluded. That was the Crew's first home match in six months.

Columbus' defense has been dominant this year, conceding just one goal in six matches.

Offensively, the Crew has scored 12 goals. Gyasi Zardes leads the team in scoring with five goals. Lucas Zelarayan is second on the team in scoring with three goals. He is also tied for first on the team with two assists.

NYCFC has lost five of its first six league games and is 1-5-0. The club has lost four of those matches 1-0.

This will be the second meeting between Columbus and NYCFC this season. The clubs met in the opening game of the season on March 1 in Columbus. The Crew won the match 1-0 thanks to a goal by Zelarayan, who was making his Crew debut.

Columbus and NYCFC will kick off at 7 p.m. Monday at Red Bull Arena.
