COLUMBUS -- Crew SC captain Wil Trapp and goal keeper Zach Steffen missed the team's match against New York Saturday and that might not be the only match they miss going forward.
Trapp wore the captain's armband for the US National Team's friendly match against World Cup hopeful France in Lyon.
"To be on that stage against a world power as they head into the World Cup doesn't happen very often," Trapp told reporters after training Tuesday. "I think we did a good job of handling the pressure of that and getting a good result." Trapp was 6 caps and wore the captain's armband five time in National Team duty.
Steffen was particulary impressive with seven saves against the homestanding French. "To be out there against players who play in leagues we have wanted to be in since we were kids was really surreal."
The CrewSC returns to the pitch Wednesday night against Atlanta FC at Mapfre Stadium
