Crew SC: Midfield Federico Higuain out for rest of 2019 season due to knee injury

Fan favorite and soccer-veteran Federico Higuain is being sidelined with a knee injury.

The team announced Friday that Higuain will undergo a knee procedure to repair a torn ACL.

He has been a Crew SC star since joining the team in July, 2012. Higuain leads in multiple all-time categories including: regular-season assists (63), regular-season game-winning assists (20), penalty kick goals (19) and corner kicks (747).

The midfielder has made 193 regular-season appearances with 184 starts.
