The Columbus Crew is unbeaten no more.

The Crew (5-1-1) fell to New York City FC (2-5-0) 1-0 Monday night at Red Bull Arena in the club's first loss of the regular season. It was also the first time the Crew has been shot out this season.

After a scoreless first half, Alexander Ring gave NYCFC a 1-0 lead when he found the back of the net in the 59th minute.

Ring's goal was just the second goal the Crew has conceded all season.

The Crew's Fanendo Adi scored a would-be game-tying goal early in stoppage time, but the goal was called off because Adi was offsides.

Columbus will return to action Saturday against in-state rival FC Cincinnati. The Crew and Cincinnati will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Nippert Stadium.
