Columbus Crew SC owner says season at critical stage

WSYX

COLUMBUS -- Columbus Crew SC Owner Anthony Precourt promised no pregame speeches but was in town to witness Wednesday's draw against depleted Toronto.

Precourt said injuries have clearly impacted the Crew SC who have been without playmaking midfielder Federico Higuain for four weeks after hernia surgery.

Precourt stood by the franchise's decision to trade last year's scoring leader striker Kei Kamara, who now plays for the New England revolution. "We are not looking back," Precourt told ABC-6.

The Crew SC now winless in their last six games and without a win since May 28th. Their playoff chances now dimming by the match. They stand five points below the playoff line as they hosted rival DC United Saturday night.
