COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- In what was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Ohio State men's basketball, the Buckeyes are back in the NCAA Tournament after missing out the previous two years.
The Buckeyes were one of 36 teams to earn at-large bid on Sunday as the 5th seed in the West region and will face #12 South Dakota State on Thursday in Boise, Idaho. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. on TNT.
OSU joins three other other teams from Ohio: Cincinnati, Xavier, and Wright State. The Musketeers are one of the four number one seeds and the top seed in the West region. Xavier will play the winner of N.C. Central/Texas Southern in Nashville on Friday.
The other #1 seeds are Virginia, Villanova, and Kansas.
The Bearcats and Raiders won their conference tournaments (the American Athletic Conference and Horizon League, respectively).
Cincinnati is the 2-seed in the South region and will play #15 Georgia State in Nashville on Friday.
Wright State is the 14-seed in the same region and will play #3 Tennessee in Dallas.
