Both teams have won 5 of their last 6, and while Logan Elm controls their own fate in their hunt for a playoff spot, Hamilton Township desperately needs a win and some help. The Rangers and Braves renew their rivalry with a chance to hoist the league crown and the coveted Thursday Night Lights championship trophy too. Who gets the treat and who gets tricked? Find out at 7 p.m. on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!

RECAP: Newark Catholic vs. Granville

For all the talk about offense, it was dee that was the key in the first half of the match-up in week 9, between Newark Catholic and Granville on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus. Would you believe the Blue Aces led 2-zip at halftime? With the start of the second half, the Green Wave found their offense and their defense continued to stay in high gear, picking off six passes from the region's leading passer, Isaac Maurer en route to a 25-8 comeback victory.  Newark Catholic has clinched a playoff spot in Division 6 and no worse than a tie for the Licking County League Small Division crown. Granville needs a win in week 10 vs Licking Valley and some help for a shot at a post-season slot in Division 3. Up next, is a showdown for at least a share of the Mid-State League Buckeye crown when a pair of 5-1 teams in league play do battle.
It's Hamilton Township at Logan Elm with a league title and playoff implications on the line at 7 p.m., on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!

PREVIEW: Newark Catholic vs. Granville

What a showdown awaits in week 9 of Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!  Residents of Licking County (and surrounding counties for that matter), will descend upon Granville for the Licking County League Showdown between Newark Catholic and Granville.  The Blue Aces got the upper hand last season, only to see the Green Wave ride the surf all the way to the title game in Division 6 last year.  The match-up puts the spotlight on a pair of prolific passers in the area.  Isaac Maurer of Granville is the top dog in many passing categories in the area, at a school that seems to crank out top-fight signal callers year after year.  But Newark Catholic counters with their own stellar student-athlete in Chayce Crouch who has already committed to playing ball at Illinois next season.  Playoff dreams are on the line in this one and the village of Granville becomes a football metropolis this week.  Catch all the action of Newark Catholic and Granville at 7pm on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!

RECAP: Westerville South vs. Westerville Central

It was like watching arena football, without the arena!  1,000 in total offense.  1,000 YARDS IN TOTAL OFFENSE!
Westerville Central is now the King of the 'Ville after running around, by, and over Westerville South 54-35 in week number 8 of Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus.  Running back Alex Fisher and quarterback Jared Drake led the way for the Warhawks rushing for 131 and 130 yards respectively.  Fisher crossed the goalline 3 times, while running back Justin Head also scored 3 times on just 6 carries.  Darien Miller was the game's leading ground gainer garnering 138 yards and 4 touchdowns for Westerville South to give him 20 on the season, while teammate Abu Daramy caught 12 passes for 228 yards and 1 score.  Central is now 7-1 while South falls to 3-5.  It's a showdown in the new Licking County League next week, when state runner-up Newark Catholic heads to Granville.  Feel the heartbeat at 7pm on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!

PREVIEW: Westerville Central vs. Westervill South

This Thursday night at 7, join us for the Thrill in the 'Ville. Two high schools in the same school system, but situated in different counties, lock horns this week as Westerville Central makes the short trip to battle Westerville South on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus.  The Wildcats have dominated this young series, but the Warhawks come in on a roll, sporting a 6-1 mark.  Randy Rhinehart, Jeff Logan, Mike Todd, and CW Stars Alissa, and Cameron paint the pictures as a pair of D-1 neighbors tussle for bragging rights at 7, on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza  on the CW Columbus!

RECAP: Dublin Jerome vs. Dublin Scioto

I said it before the game and I guess it was prophetic. Dublin Scioto had been a scoring machine when they're able to beat the Celtics of Dublin Jerome. They have scored 42, 43, 42, and now...you guessed it...42 points again. The Irish eyes were smiling after the game thanks to a 42-20 victory against their school system foe. Nick Conner was a terror on both sides of the ball, accounting for 2 rushing touchdowns and returning an interception across the goal line for the green icing on the cake. Alex Cline was a bright spot for Jerome passing for over 230 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Irish improve to 5-2 and the Celtics fall to 3-4.  Doublin' up in Dublin was indeed twice the fun on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!

PREVIEW: Dublin Jerome vs. Dublin Scioto

It's a battle of Dublin Thursday night and both teams are coming in off big wins last Friday.  Dublin Jerome blanked Westerville North 21-0, while Dublin Scioto was part of one of the most exciting games in the school history.  Down by 10, the Irish came back and dumped Westerville South, 31-24 in overtime.  The neighbors put more than bragging rights on the line as both try to keep their playoff hopes alive and look to climb in the always-tough OCC Cardinal.  Which team will combine the Wearin' of the Green, with the Wearin' of the Grin?  It's the Celtics of Dublin Jerome and the Irish of Dublin Scioto at 7pm on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!

RECAP: Beechcroft vs. Mifflin

Punctuated by mishaps, miscues, and mistakes early on, there was enough fight left in the Punchers of Mifflin to hang on for a 21-20 victory over Beechcroft in week six of Thursday Night Lights. Two of the three teams tied for the top spot in City League North battled through some rough spots in the first couple of quarters and it appeared the game was headed to halftime with Mifflin up 7-6.  But it was ruled there was one tick left on the clock, when the Punchers delivered a near knock-out blow on a 12 year touchdown pass to Stanley Jackson as time evaporated.  Even down by 15 late in the second half, the Cougars fought back and scored a fourth quarter td that cut the lead to one.  However, the Beechcroft run for the two point conversion came up short and Mifflin maintains a share of the top spot in the league by the slimmest of margins. Both Adonis Davis of Beechroft and Montrese Frazier of Mifflin earned every inch they garnered rumbling through the trenches in route to rushing games that hovered just over the century mark. It seemed only appropriate that the last names of the two defensive coordinators in the game were Black and Blue...and both teams were after the contest!  We move on to the OCC for the next two weeks.  First stop, will be a battle of Dublin, as Jerome heads to Scioto.  Catch it at 7pm on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!

Thursday Night Lights: Marion-Franklin vs. Walnut Ridge

Nothing like a rivalry game to spice up mid-term week for Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!  Marion-Franklin had taken 8 of the last 9 match-ups with Walnut Ridge and 6 of those were decided by 8 points or less!  But after spotting the Scots a 7-nothing halftime lead, the Red Devils got their offense in gear.  It was thanks in large part to one of the smallest guys on the field.  Landon Yeartie darted through gaps, cutback on a dime, and rushed for nearly 100 yards as Marion-Franklin scored 15 unanswered 4th quarter points to snatch the City League South rivalry clash 22-7.  But don't think Walnut Ridge is out of it.  Both of these teams have a great chance to make the playoffs if they have strong second halves of the season.  The Fighting Scots have a fighting chance in division 2, while the Red Devils look like a favorite to make the post-season party for the 10th straight season, now playing in division 3!  We make a final stop in the City League and head north for the neighborhood confrontation between Beechcroft and Mifflin for our next match-up on Thursday Night Lights presented by Jet's Pizza on the CW Columbus!

Thursday Night Lights Week Four Preview

The Whitehall Rams have a 1-4 record in the league and a 2-6 record overall, with a 0-3 away record. Theyre ranked 502nd in the state. While these statistics dont look the most promising, the Rams dominated over Central Crossing and Lakewood. Although they lost, theyve also held their own against Grandview Heights and Heath.

The Columbus Academy Vikings have a 3-2 record in the league, a 4-4 record overall and are ranked 241st in the state. Last week they lost in a very close game against Licking Valley, but one week prior they devastated Bexley. While the Rams lost to Heath, the Vikings won against them 42-21.

Thursday Night Lights Week Three Preview

Its week three of OXYwater Thursday Night Lights, which means there's another exciting game lined up. Last week's upset of New Albany over Olentangy showed that this really is a game where anything can happen, so you don't want to miss this game.

This week, Hilliard Davidson High School will take on Olentangy Liberty High School at Olentangy Liberty's stadium in Powell.

The Hilliard Davidson Wildcats are ranked 82nd in the state and have a 5-2 record. Last week, Hilliard Davidson crushed Upper Arlington with a score of 42-14. The Wildcats two losses were against Hilliard Darby (17-3) and Dublin Coffman (33-10).

Olentangy Liberty High School is ranked 110th, has a 6-1 record overall and is undefeated in the league. The Patriots one loss was to the aforementioned Olentangy High School, whose winning streak was ended by New Albany last week. Last week was a good one for Olentangy Liberty too, they devastated Westland with a final score of

As always, this game could go either way. The two teams are relatively closely ranked, and although Olentangy Liberty is ranked lower, it has a better record and has had consistently dominant wins. You cant ignore the fact that they're also undefeated in the league, although they have not played Dublin Coffman (Hilliard's one loss within the league) yet.

Tune in to the CW at 10 PM to see live coverage in HD!

Thursday Night Lights Round 2

Are you ready for some football? Well, its not quite the NFL, but this weeks OXYwater Thursday Night Lights game might have you thinking otherwise.

Thursday, October 4, the New Albany Eagles will take on the Olentangy High School Braves (Lewis Center) at New Albany.

The undefeated Braves are ranked 49th in the state, and, so far, have devastated every team they have played, except Worthington Kilbourne in the first week.

New Albany will have a tough game, but a win is doable.

While the Eagles are ranked 109th in the state and have a 4-2 record, they are undefeated in the league. Their two losses were early in the season and very close calls: they lost 10-9 at Reynoldsburg and 23-20 against Westerville Central. After those very close losses, they have dominated over every opponent.

I fully believe that New Albany will put up a fight and could lead to Olentangy's first loss.

How will the game play out? Tune in to the CW on Thursday October 4 at 7 pm for live coverage of the game in high definition!

Thursday Night Lights: Marion Franklin vs. Walnut Ridge

Whats the best thing about fall? FOOTBALL!

Check out OXYwater Thursday Night Lights on September 27 at 7 p.m. EST as Marion Franklin takes on Walnut Ridge. Coverage will be live in high definition from Walnut Ridge.

So far the Marion Franklin Red Devils have had a fairly successful year with only one loss in week two to Pickerington Central. They are undefeated at home, but 1-1 away. Currently the Red Devils are ranked 62nd in the state of Ohio.

The Walnut Ridge Scots, ranked 297, are 2-2 with one loss at home, one loss away and two wins away. Numbers may not lie, but upsets are possible! If the mighty Scots fight to defend their home turf, we may witness a fantastic upset.

With a little heart, anything is possible in football.

Don't fret Vampire Diaries fans! The Vampire Diaries will be pushed to 10 p.m. EST, after the game.
