A 9-year-old boy in Michigan got a special birthday celebration from two officers.

Grand Rapids Police Officer Lynema saw Thomas Daniel chasing after a school bus one morning and when but the school bus didn't stop. Lynema asked Thomas if he needed some help, and that's when the 9-year-old told him that he missed the bus and his mother didn't have a car.

With permission from Thomas' mom, Lynema gave him a ride.

On the way to school, Thomas told Office Lynema that it was his birthday. Thomas invited the officer to his birthday party after school but also told Lynema that he gets bullied at school, so he was afraid no one from his class would show up.

Grand Rapids Police said on Facebook that Officer Lynema made it to Thomas's party, but outside of his siblings, he was the only one there.

The very next day, Officer Lynema rallied up a couple of other officers and surprised Thomas with a Krispy Kreme donut cake, presents and a singing quartet.

"This is the best birthday ever!" Thomas told them.
