Police searching for man accused of robbing west Columbus Walmart

Columbus Police Division of Police is searching for a man accused of robbing a west Columbus Walmart on Sunday.

The suspect walked into the Walmart location at 5200 Westpoint Plaza Drive just after 10:30 a.m. and was observed placing items inside of a duffel bag.

An asset protection manager said the suspect exited the store through the garden center with the cart and duffel bag heading towards the parking lot. The suspect was approached by the protection manager and was ordered to stop.

He then displayed a pocket knife and said he had a knife and then lunged at the manager. He then dropped the duffel bag and fled the area in a maroon or red Honda Accord with only a rear Ohio license plate.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-8 inches, 220 pounds, between the ages of 25-45, with glasses, reddish hair, scruffy facial hair, wearing a black and blue flannel shirt, blue jeans, white shoes, and a red baseball hat with the word "DRIP" on the front.
