The Franklin County Coroner issued an overdose death alert for the area Monday afternoon, after at least six people died from overdoses in less than 24 hours.

Authorities are encouraging people who have loved ones or friends who suffer from addiction to make sure they have naloxone and fentanyl testing strips. The deaths happened across the city, from the Hilltop to the Clintonville area, to Whitehall. Dr. Anahi Ortiz says the majority of overdose deaths continue to be fentanyl related.

You can get Naloxone from Columbus Public Health and some community health centers, and can be bought over the counter at many pharmacies. To find locations to where you can get Naloxone and fentanyl testing strips, click here.
