Ohio Dominican football player shot and killed in Dayton over the weekend

An 18-year-old football player and student at Ohio Dominican died after a shooting early Sunday morning in north Dayton. Jonte Tinsley was a rising sophomore at the University.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and police responded to reports of a shooting around 1 a.m. Sunday, June 9. Authorities say they found the teen with a gunshot wound and rushed him to the hospital where he later died.

Tinsley was originally from Dayton and was a sports management major at Ohio Dominican. His profile on the university's athletic website says he has two siblings and enjoyed working out and working at Five Guys.

Authorities say they are still investigating the shooting.
