Rita Newcomb, who is accused of helping her family cover up the murders of the Rhoden family members in 2016 was in court in Pike County Thursday for a pre-trial hearing.

Newcomb, 65, is charged with three counts of forgery, one count of perjury, and one count of obstructing justice, accused of helping cover up the crimes by forging a child custody document, among other actions. She is the mother of Angela Wagner, who is charged - along with her husband and two sons - for the execution-style murders of eight people in April, 2016.

The 65-year-old was released from jail in November after posting a $50,000 bond.
