Firefighter injured after responding to blaze in northwest Columbus

A Columbus firefighter was is being treated for minor burns after responding to a fire Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were dispatched to a fire at 5316 Mustang Court in northwest Columbus.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire, but one firefighter sustained 1st and 2nd degree burns to his face and ear after falling through a weakened spot in the home. He was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin said.

The firefighter is expected to be released sometime this evening, Martin added.
