DELAWARE, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- A Delaware man accused of killing his ex's boyfriend has been denied bail.
Bryan Pemberton had his attorney's request rejected by a Delaware County Commons Pleas Court judge Monday afternoon.
“WebelievePembertonisadangertothecommunityandtohisex-girlfriend,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “As such, we requested bond be denied in his case, and thatheremainbehindbarsuntiltrial.”
Pemberton was charged with aggravated murder of 28-year-oldAliAlAzirjawiofHilliard. AlAzirjawihaddrivenhis fiancée, Catherine “Abby” Scherler to Pemberton’s home in order to pick up her daughter when he was shot and killed outside the house, police said.
Pemberton entered a not guilty plea in court today. His attorney indicated he will be filingamotiontoenteranotguiltybyinsanityplea.
