Madison County Sheriff Investigators are searching for a gang of suspected crooks who crashed through the wall of a Plain City gun shop and stole dozens of firearms Thursday night.

Surveillance video captured the group of men driving a car through a wall at Smokin Ace's Armory in Grove City around 9:00 p.m. Once inside the men used baseball bats to smash open cases and grab guns on display.

"You got a mix of revolvers and semi-automatics, mostly 9mm and 380's," said Tyler Bonta, owner of Smokin Ace's Armory. "These guys are scum of the earth...These guns might be used to kill somebody, I don't know how they can live with that, people could die because these guns are on the street."

All of the men were wearing hooded sweatshirts and gloves. Madison County authorities say they are looking for a small or mid-size SUV, and a possible second vehicle that could be linked to the crime.

"It's definitely a concern," said Bonta, "crime will be committed by people who steal, not law-abiding citizens."
